mum’s the word
a poem by punkie
quick lies on your lips
make swift fingertips
bitter subsistence
while justice remiss
betrayed with a kiss
failed proof in the court
of first instance
she who was here
deleted by fear
defaced and erased
from existence
stays in the wings
to silently sing
do-re-me without
proper assistance
mum’s the word now
no longer allowed
to punish my
passive resistance
yet deep in cut throats
choke rebel-like quotes:
the heart is the soul
of persistence
